In 1 Corinthians 14:1-4, the Word of God exhorts us to:

Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy…  For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God…But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.” (Emphasis added)

For many believers, encouraging words from the Lord can become a life-line through difficult times or a source of confirmation and affirmation during the many crossroads and seasons in life’s journey.  It is for this reason that PAI is committed to the skillful and biblical use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (see 1 Corinthians 12:4-11) and the mature use of prophetic gifts though both “laity” and those operating in ministry offices (see Ephesians 4:11-12).

As a ministry, we understand that some in the Body of Christ may have experienced prophetic ministry from some that were less skilled in its biblical use or who were perhaps lacking in teaching and maturity. This may have resulted in the avoidance of a gift and ministry the Bible nevertheless urges us to “eagerly desire” (I Corinthians 14:1 NIV). To encourage and claim this gift for the building and maturing of God’s people, PAI believes that training and discipleship can serve to encourage the biblical use of this gift and to help leaders and members of the Body to embrace every good gift God has made available to us.
